Play Scheme for Children with Autism Awarded £30,000 by BBC Children in Need

Autism charity NORSACA is delighted to announce that BBC Children in Need have awarded them a grant of £30,095 over three years. The grant will support NORSACA’s summer play scheme for children with autism.

Artists with Autism Shine at Newark Library

Artwork produced by artists with autism will be exhibited at Newark Library in Beaumond Gardens from April 28th to May 21st. All of the artwork has been produced by students with autism from Sutherland House School and Whitegates College, a specialist school and college run by autism charity NORSACA.

‘Best Practice in Nottinghamshire’ - Find out what help is available on World Autism Awareness Day

To mark the 2nd annual World Autism Awareness Day, regional autism charity NORSACA has organised a one day conference for parents, carers and young people (aged 16+) and adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

NAS Accreditation October 2008

The NAS Accreditation Team carried out a full review, which covered 29 standards, during the week commencing 13th October. The team gave very positive feedback.

NORSACA Selected as Charity of the Week

Thanks to votes from our supporters and the general public, NORSACA was selected as Optimist World website’s charity of the week for the 4th – 11th December.  We now move forward to the second stage of the website’s Charity of the Year competition, which will be taking place in 2009.

Langwith resident Colin Draper raised £774 for autism charity NORSACA by walking over 25 miles last month. The walk took 8 hours and 20 minutes and went from Colin’s home to all five sites of Sutherland House School.
